Human Factors and System Safety Specialist
Rebecca is a human factors and system safety specialist for the MedStar Health National Center for Human Factors in Healthcare. In this role, she is responsible for co-leading the Center’s patient safety initiatives. Rebecca specializes in integrating human factors and safety science principles to create both proactive and reactive solutions to increase safety throughout the MedStar Health system. She also has expertise in medical device usability and the Food and Drug Administration (FDA) pre-market submission process. She holds a bachelor’s degree in industrial and systems engineering from Virginia Tech and a master’s degree in human factors and applied cognition from George Mason University. Outside of work, Rebecca enjoys spending time with family and friends, trying new foods, swimming, and sewing.
