Long La, PharmD
Long is a research scientist with the MedStar Health National Center for Human Factors in Healthcare. He is developing and applying natural language processing models to patient safety data, as well as providing clinical pharmacy insight on medication-related errors and clinical decision systems related to opioids. He's interested in applying data science to improve medication safety. Long has previously worked as a clinical pharmacist at MedStar Health St. Mary's Hospital, where he was involved in both the clinical workflow and data analytics for the Antibiotic Stewardship Committee. He has a Doctor of Pharmacy from The University of Maryland Eastern Shore School of Pharmacy, and a Bachelor of Science in Computer Science from University of Maryland Global Campus. Long enjoys studying his coffee every morning, as well as staying connected with his friends nationwide.
