Joseph is a senior clinical informatics researcher and developer with the MedStar Health National Center for Human Factors in Healthcare. Joseph provides informatics expertise to the Center. His professional expertise is in the development of components for electronic medical record systems as well as standalone applications for clinical decision support. Prior to joining the Center, Joseph spent eight years as a member of an information solutions team focused on acute and inpatient care at MedStar Washington Hospital Center. His education is rooted in knowledge of a diverse set of programming languages on his way to an undergraduate degree in computer science from Connecticut College. There, he focused on evolutionary computation and emergent behavior in robotics and continued his work in the field by joining the robotics laboratory at the U.S. Naval Research Laboratory in Washington, D.C.
